Brief summary
As we progress in this 1 year through running smaller workshops and camps for different clients, we gain invaluable experience. These experience have encourage us to continued to pursue our belief in educating the concept of “serving out of the box”
Even though met setbacks in application of funding from different government organization, we did not submit to fate. With the tenaciousness of making Dotbox a social enterprise, we brought in lots of innovation and have revamped to be a Social Enterprise integrating education consultancy and event management together.
Being adaptive, we have also made changes to our mission and to fulfill our new role. Eliminating the Not-for-profit and moving on to a profit social enterprise was a big difficulty because we are still young players in the industry. Through strategic corporate planning, we created one social enterprise with 2 different industry scope but all with a common objective – benefiting the community!
Our New Services
Dotbox will be serving the Corporate and the volunteering welfare organization (VWO) in organizing event in areas of meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition. We will also provide D&D and road shows management with marvelous entertainment ranging from professional emcee to sooth Acapella groups. Dotbox will also provide rental of professional logistic for events which includes AV and lighting, Stage backdrop, staging.
In addition, Dotbox will play a matchmaking role to allow a Corporate to be able to fulfill its social responsibility role. Dotbox will introduce the correct VWO for appropriate sponsorship by the corporate to ensure that corporate will benefit from the partnership with the VWO.
Dotbox.learning will continued to serve community through community based learning approach providing service learning and social enterprise training. Experience gained from our events and also corporate social responsibility management will be shared through workshops and camps. Hence, it will create the multiplier effect in the community.
Our Direction
This year will also be a exciting year where will be working towards forming Dotbox Co. Dotbox Co. will comprise of
- Dotbox. Learning Pte Ltd – Education Consultancy
- Dotbox Event Pte Ltd – Event Management Firm
- Dotty Management Pte Ltd –Talent management firm
With all these goals in our workplan, we hope to cut the supply chain. We also aim to provide to you the best service in Singapore but at the most affordable rates!
Milestones
Dotbox also made couple of milestones in 2006. We moved on as a virtual organization to a real organization with an office space in Dunlop St 64A.
Next, Together with National Youth Council Shine Festival, we also run a mega camp for tertiary students in Singapore (Project Engagement). The event has a wonderful response from the participants and service learning concept definitely had etched into their heart.
Lastly, we also managed a mega social enterprise party event at club Momo on 18 Nov 2006. Dotbox took a daring and out of the box approach to raise awareness and funds for a hospice in a club.
Conclusion
My experience in Dotbox as a managing director is certainly wonderful in the one year journey and I will continued to strive to excel in our services and sustainable.
For volunteering welfare organization and not for profit organization, we look forward to help you bridge the gaps and look for a corporate company to sponsor. We also look forward running fund raising and awareness event for you.
